Mpls. council settles suit against cop for $125K:
The Minneapolis City Council has agreed to pay about $125,000 to settle allegations that a police officer used excessive force. Officer Sherry Appledorn was accused of using a stun gun, kicking and hitting a suspect after he surrendered. A lawyer for the suspect said the officer's account of the incident didn't match a recording made by a police camera. The city council agreed unanimously Friday to pay $75,000 plus an estimated $50,000 in attorney's fees. Appledorn is still on the police force after serving a 20-hour suspension and receiving a letter of reprimand...
