A Minneapolis police officer is accused of ambushing a man outside a Fridley bar while off duty and beating him unconscious. Anoka County authorities filed a felony third-degree assault charge Monday against Thomas Bernardson Jr., 27, of Fridley, saying he attacked Nickolas Wraspir, 29, outside Shortstop Bar on Jan. 17.
